Dear Dr Kryger,
Thank you for your wonderful diet, so far I have lost 17lbs. I
would like to hold on to this phenomenon. Could you please email
the maintenance diet.
Yours gratefully, Stephanie, Texas
Hello Doc,
Just wanted to fill you in on how things were going for me. I
did use your cabbage diet Dr
K's Monterey Diet™ and it worked wonderfully!
I dropped the 10 pounds I wanted to and with a little help from
family I stayed at the weight I wanted to be at. I am now eating
a lot healthier then I was before and it really is making a difference.
Thank you for the Maintenance Diet. I'll give it a try maybe here
in a few months. Right now I'm where I want to be but with winter
coming my body tends to say: STORE FAT! If you get back with me
about. . .Oh. . .December I'll let you know how it works for me.
Once again THANK YOU!!!!

Dear DrK,
Your cabbage/chicken soup tastes way better than some of the other
cabbage diets we found on the net. I lost 12 pounds in ONE WEEK!
Jennifer
Dear Dr. K,
Thanks for your continued interest. Last week, I did five
days of the 7-day fast and got really tired !! of it by the
third day the last time around and just quit. I have lost
over 12 pounds and that feels real good. I can fit into some
of my older clothes again.
I felt entitled to have ice cream and cookies almost immediately
after I quit the fast last week. I like oatmeal, but I don't
know if I like it that much. I didn't really plan my shopping
or cooking around the maintenance diet yet. Although I made
a grocery list and have been looking for things like fat
free parmesan cheese in the stores. And so far, I have not
gotten serious about the maintenance part or the exercise
part. I need to just take a deep breath and sit down and
look at that. The thrill of losing the first few pounds was
wonderful. Now, I have to look at my lifestyle.
After a weekend of enjoying ice cream and rice krispie bars
and coffee with creamer, I am starting another round of the
fast. I am not happy with slipping back to my sweets and
fats routine. So before I start feeling really angry with
myself I am going to drop another couple of pounds.
Also, my stomach feels good on the 7-day meal plan. I have
difficulty with digestion or something on my normal diet.
Things don't always agree with me or I feel too stuffed.
I have to say that the foods on the 7-day plan are easy on
my digestion and I do not feel stuffed no matter how much
fruit, soup, chicken with tomatoes, or salad -- I feel full,
not stuffed. That is a nice feeling. I do like vegetables
and fruits anyway, and I love to make soups. So there are
some good things for me right away. I lost 12 pounds in & DAYS,
That's Amazing!!!!

Dear Dr.
Thanks for sending me the literature about Dr
K's Monterey Diet™. I'll send you a check
for it. I just completed my second week-loss of 23 pounds-it
was a little hard towards the end of the second week but
happy with the results.
Thanks, Peggy, Nebraska
Hello Dr. Kryger,
Please feel free to use this letter as a testimonial regarding
your cabbage soup diet.
I started Dr
K's Monterey Diet™ on Feb. 15, 1999 and tipped the scale at
a whopping 229 pounds! At 5 foot 8...that was a problem. I had heard of some
people doing this "soup"diet through my wife's place of work. After about a
month I started to notice some changes in these people.
I find that most people are reluctant to talk about dieting
and everyone has their own opinion and point of view of what's
right and what's wrong. At this point I did not know what
type of soup these people were eating until, at a social
gathering, I overheard someone say "thought you weren't supposed
to eat chocolate on the cabbage soup diet". From there, right
to the internet.
I found many different sites and variations of the diet.
Luckily, I found the wellness clinic. I got the diet, looked
at it and thought...yeah right!
I had one very big problem with it and that was that I am
allergic to fruit. I e-mailed Dr. Kryger and within 12 hours
I had a variation of what to do. I lost approximately 15
pounds the first week and at the middle of march weighed
in at 193.
That's 36 pounds less! My waist went from a 40 to a 34!
(so far). Being the skeptic that I am, I thought...well,
I better test this thing.
See, I didn't want to just loose pounds, I wanted to loose
inches. Most importantly, I wanted to keep it off. So I went
off the diet for 28 days. Ate, drank and didn't exercise.
I gained 4 pounds. For me, that was a big deal...not that
I gained 4 pounds, but that I only gained
4 pounds!
The diet helped me not only drop size quickly but it helped
my metabolism get a boost.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying to go on the diet and
loose a bunch of weight and go back to your old eating habits
because you will put it back on over time.
I know now what to do do for my body. For my own piece of
mind I needed to know that if I was not able to exercise
or watch what I eat as closely as I'd like, that I wouldn't
gain 20 pounds back. So I "guinea pigged myself"!
As I stated earlier, I wanted to find something that would
not only drop the pounds but the inches as well, and most
importantly, keep it off! I didn't want a bunch of chemicals
or pills either.
I started the diet and I think most importantly, started
exercising again. I walked for an average of 45 minutes a
day at a high tempo.
- You Must Exercise If You Want To Loose Size! I
can't stress that enough. Read Dr. Kryger's web site and
follow the diet. Not only does the diet help you loose
size, It also helps you look at what you are putting into
your mouth when you're not on the diet. I know that I needed
to change my eating habits and essentially, my life style. Dr
K's Monterey Diet™ helped me do that.
I had hit rock bottom with the way I looked at myself.
- Friends and family always say "you look fine, what
are you worried about?" but that's not the point, It's
all about how you feel and perceive yourself. Don't
do this diet for anyone but yourself! For myself,
I have more energy that I've had in years and I feel
and look great! I can only wish you the same success
that I have had.
- Don't get down on yourself if you only loose 2 - 4
pounds the first week. Look at it from a longevity standpoint,
that's 8 - 16 pounds per month eating healthy food! Keep
that in mind if you're having a bad week.
In closing, I want you to know that I wasn't asked to write
this letter. I would however, like to ask you a favor, please Don't
do the diet if you haven't hit rock bottom . You
need to be disciplined and focused. It won't work if you
don't make some lifestyle changes and it would be unfair
to Dr. Kryger to have people running around saying that it
doesn't work if there isn't a 100% commitment.
I wish you all the success in the world. The diet does work
and you can do it! I have a little saying that I use in business
and I feel that it describes loosing size to a "T". Just
remember... If It's To Be, It's Up to Me! Good
luck and thank you Dr. Kryger!
Sincerely, Brett S., Canada
Dear Dr. Kryger,
Well I have tried your Dr
K's Monterey Diet™ on 4 different occasions
since July '98. I have lost around 27 to 30 pounds and
have kept it off. Currently I weigh anywhere between 221-224
lbs. I have always allowed some time to go by so my body
would adjust to the weight change. It has helped me shake
some bad eating habits - (prefer not to eat fastfood, drink
less beer, less chocalate).
My weight goal over the following year is to reach 185 -
190lb mark but realistically I would be happy to reach the
200lb mark. I hopefully plan to start a exercise program
with weights in the next few months. It is a tough thing
for me to do because I tried to lift weights before, but
it would bore me after awhile.
I must admit though it has become harder and harder to eat
the soup. I try to make it in small batches so it stays fresh
because once you put in the refrigerator it starts to lose
its flavor and appeal. Sure go ahead send me the Practical
Guide to Permanent Weight Loss.
Thanks, Ramsey, Oregon
Dr. Kryger responds:
Good luck and remember, for EVERYONE, the
best
way to maintain weight loss when not following a strict diet plan is
to eat a hearty breakfast daily (a serving of OATMEAL, or a piece of
TOAST with a scant smear of BUTTER, or an EGG, plus 8 ounces of SKIM
MILK or PLAIN YOGURT), eat a moderate lunch (a SANDWICH or a LARGE SALAD),
and eat a small dinner (SOUP OR SALAD).
